Getting verified
Why some sections need a verified member, what it costs and how it works.
Help center / Account & verification
To keep scammers and spam out, posting rentals, jobs, events, group trips, matrimony profiles and business listings (professional services, restaurants, home food, Pandit Ji, event and wedding services, tutors, IT training and travel agents) is for members who've verified their identity. Buying and selling in the Marketplace and Classifieds, handyman referrals, travel companions, communities, room requests and job-seeker posts don't need it, and neither does replying, applying, messaging or buying tickets.
Verifying is a one-time check by our partner Didit: a photo of your ID and a quick selfie. It costs a small one-time fee (shown in your currency before you pay) that covers the check. Start from Account settings, or from the "Verified members post here" card when you try to post. Once you're verified, a Verified badge shows next to your name.
The fee isn't refunded if the check is declined, but if you stop partway through or the check expires, you can pick it up again without paying twice.
