Our commitment
DesiFam should work for everyone in the community, including members who use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or rely on other assistive technology. We build with accessibility in mind and keep improving it as the product grows.
What we do
- Semantic HTML and labelled form fields, so screen readers can identify what each control does.
- Keyboard-operable navigation, menus and dialogs, with a “skip to content” link at the top of every page.
- Sufficient color contrast in both our light and dark themes.
- Text alternatives for icons and meaningful images.
- Responsive layouts that work with browser zoom and larger text sizes.
Known limitations
Some member-uploaded content — like photos in a listing — won’t have alt text we can generate automatically, and a few older or third-party-embedded parts of the site may not yet meet the same standard as the rest. We prioritize fixes as we find them.
Feedback
If you hit a barrier using DesiFam with assistive technology, we want to know specifically what happened — the page, what you were trying to do, and what technology you were using. That detail is what lets us actually fix it rather than guess.
