If you can sign in
- Sign in to DesiFam on the website or in the app.
- Open Account settings and choose Delete account at the bottom (on the website: desifam.com/account/delete).
- Enter your password, confirm you understand what gets deleted, and select Delete my account.
If you organize events, any upcoming event with tickets sold needs to be cancelled first (ticket holders are refunded automatically), and ticket sales from past events need to have been paid out to you — the delete screen tells you if either applies.
If you can't sign in
Forgot your password? Reset it, then follow the steps above. If you no longer have access to the email or phone on the account, use our Contact page, choose “Account access (locked out)”, and ask us to delete your account — tell us the username or email it uses. We’ll confirm it’s really yours before acting, the same as any other privacy request.
What happens next
You’re signed out on every device straight away, auto-renew stops, and nothing more is charged to you. Your account is then deleted after 30 days. Until that date you can sign back in and choose Keep my account to cancel — after it, deletion can’t be undone. We email you when the request is made.
What gets deleted
- Your profile: name, username, email, phone, date of birth, address, bio, profile photo and verification badge.
- Everything you’ve published: listings and posts in every section, your matrimony profile and photos, service and business listings, events without ticket sales, community posts and replies, and your seller profile.
- Your saved cities, searches, listings and filters, hometowns, friends, follows, blocks and community memberships.
- Your saved cards, push notification subscriptions and signed-in devices.
Restaurants you had claimed stay listed as businesses, but go back to unclaimed.
What we keep, and why
- Messages you sent stay in the other person’s inbox, and reviews you left stay up so businesses’ ratings remain accurate. Both show as “Deleted member” — never your name.
- Records of payments, refunds, payouts and tax, for as long as tax and accounting law requires (typically up to 7 years). Tickets you bought stay valid, and the organizer keeps the names on them.
- Support tickets, safety reports and our staff’s audit records, for 3 years after they’re closed, then deleted. Your sign-in history and the record of notices we sent you, for 1 year — with your email address, phone number and the message text removed when your account is deleted (messages sent to an old address of yours are deleted within a year).
- Copies in our database backups are deleted within 30 days as older backups are rotated out.
Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
